BBQ Sauce

Barbeque season is still weeks away for us, which is why I decided now was the time to come up with the perfect homemade bbq sauce recipe.  That way when the season does arrive, I will be ready.  In the meantime, we love to make BBQ chicken pizza (which, I will share the recipe of later this week) so this sauce is perfect for it.

Actually, to be perfectly honest, I could eat this stuff by the spoonful.  Which is not good, because self control in the food department is not my strength.  But, really, can you fault me?  Food is delicious.  I am considering slathering all things in this bbq sauce from here on out.

Even the child who hates bbq sauce (and all things condiments wise) said it was delicious and asked if he could eat a spoonful of it.

He just won’t eat the bbq sauce on his pizza.  He doesn’t like his food to mix. Or touch.  I know some of you can relate.

Even though the sauce has to simmer for an hour, mixing it all together really doesn’t take too long.  It is a pretty simple process to make this kind of thing.  Just throw it in a pot and let it do it’s thing.

You’ll see that this recipe has quite a few ingredients.  But I promise you, it’s worth it.
